Brother. Uncle. Comrade. Good Friend.
A huge thanks to those that participated and/or attended in Michael's Service and Memorial last weekend. Both were truly beautiful, Mike would have been proud. Just added: Below is a video that was presented at Michael's service.
Michael passed away unexpectedly at his home In San Jose. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Dorothy Jennings, sister Dora Fritsch and niece Cynthia Hall.
He leaves behind his sister Marquietta, her husband Ernie Fernandez, sister Donne Smith, brother John Harris and wife Barbara, brother Gene Jennings, his beloved dog Bailey and many close friends.
He proudly answered to "Uncle Mike" to his 12 nieces/nephews and 17 great nieces/nephews, as well as several of his friends' children who were also loved as family.
Reflection
Michael Jennings was a friend to many people, he was beloved by many social circles and had numerous friends from all walks of life. He had a big heart and always looked out for his people, often giving his time, energy, and resources to help others.
He opened up his home to nearly the entire south bay underground dance community and played a key role in providing a space to network, develop artwork and production enhancements for multiple collectives. Mike was an all around cool dood who everyone liked and appreciated knowing. He could engage a stranger and would be willing to help anyone in need. He was a kid at heart and loved to party, dance and was once even a DJ (Dysfunctional).
Mike was passionate about football and he loved the 49ers, always looking forward to the next football season and the almighty Superbowl. He loved his dog Bailey and often brought her to functions and events.
Mike will not only be truly missed, but he will be cherished and remembered for a lifetime. His legacy is one of love, respect, and compassion, as Mikes’ friendship was sincere and honest. He was a good natured fun loving spirit, who wouldn’t want people to be sad by his passing, in fact he would probably tell you to host a party in his honor. And that's what we intend to do...
