The Dysfunctional Family Gathering returns for a day of BBQ'd Beats in rememberance of Dysfunctional Mike and celebration of new beginnings.
Congrats to newlyweds Josh & Kim Mitchell, Vlad and Jamie Katz, and also Dan Huver & Sita (who are getting hitched the day before the party :-)
This event will take place on Sunday, May 23rd at Baylands Park, Sunnyvale, in the Eucalyptus Grove Pavilion.
Details are as follows:
- 8 hours of sizzling beats, 11am-7pm
- Private Pavilion with seating and multiple BBQ pits
- DJ's for the day: Harry Who, Amber, Macadio, Kevin James, and Terry
- Pitmaster Gary rocking the grill
- Free food and booze (potluck items and more booze welcomed!)
- Sound System powered by Eminent Sound
- Event is FREE! Parking is $6 (pay at park entrance)
- No dogs or other pets, sorry (this is a wildlife preserve)
- Donations welcomed to help cover permit, reservations, and food/beverage costs (see below)

Harry Who(Solid Grooves, harrywhophotography.com)Harry is the guy who used to own Solid Grooves, a popular south bay record store from back in the day. Solid Grooves was legendary...it was the place where many of us would stand in line to buy our presale tix, browse crates for days, network with like-minded electronic music heads, or just hang out. Harry just celebrated his 50th birthday in the same park last year. Come watch how this old-school veteran still rocks out ;-) |

Amber(iamthedj.com, Ambient Mafia)Amber is a rockin' DJ, vocalist and rhythm guitarist for The Everhearts band, and an overall sweetheart. Back in the day, she rolled with the Epiphany crew and was a part of :CODE TV. She also co-founded NorCal DJ and Music Production Academy in San Francisco, and has been a recurring guest lecturer for the UCLA Graduate School of Musicology course on "The History of Electronic Music". We're honored to have this busy lady come and spend the day with us :-) |

Macadio(First Light)We sometimes affectionately refer to Macadio as "Mack-Daddio". Back in the late 90's, during the earliest days of Skills parties, he was often seen tag teaming with his parter on the decks, Micron. A fixture among various crews during that time, he also threw his own string of successful parties under the name First Light. Yet another DJ and old friend we're bringing out of the woodwork :-) |

Terry Estioko(Viberation, DFG)Terry's better known as the visuals guy, as he's done visuals for hundreds of parties in the Bay Area over the last 14 years. He is also known for his contributions with Harmony, Cloudfactory, FnF, SFRaves, Evil Breaks, and his own Viberation parties. At DFG, he returns to the decks after an 11 year DJ hiatus.
