The Dysfunctional Family Gathering returns for a day of music, food, and fun in remembrance of Dysfunctional Mike and in celebration of lifetime friendships.

This event will take place on Sunday, June 3rd 2012 at Baylands Park, Sunnyvale, in the Pickleweed Place pavilion (same place as last year).

Forest Green

(Cute Fangs Recordings, Cute Things with Fangs, forestgreen.org)

We remember Forest way before she became such a renowned DJ. Back in the mid to late '90's, she was rockin' little undergrounds and clandestine beach parties with the Cloudfactory and friends. Then she was featured in the movie 'Groove' and the rest is history. Since then, she has played at many recognized clubs and venues in the US and around the world in countries including Berlin, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Vienna, and Kuala Lumpur to name a few. Things have certainly changed, but Forest has always remained a sweetheart in our eyes.

Spencer Franklin Knowles

(LA, Warmth)

Spencer has not lived in the Bay Area in a long time. But in the mid-late 90's he spearheaded a popular series of parties here called Warmth. The Warmth parties were legendary with their vibe and production value, from their smallest UGs to the mini-massives. Pursuing an acting career in LA, Spencer has had numerous parts in movies, TV series, and commericals. He's also a DJ and has recently played at the Playboy Mansion, as well as various TV red carpet events, premieres, Oscar after parties, and wrap parties. He's promising to bring an eclectic mix of feel good music from all walks of life, with a bias for electronica. We're stoked our old friend is coming up to visit :-)

Justin Hale

(SLAP!, Sticky, Secret Society)

John aka Justin Hale was the originator of the long-running Secret Society weekly/monthly nights at the Savoy nightclub in the south bay. Along with being a devoted father and husband, John shines as a house music disciple, and was once a hot commodity in the SoCal scene. John still plays out all over the South Bay and beyond. You may find him at the weekly SLAP! in San Jose, the annual LDP boat party, or at various other house music events all over the area. He's also a spokesman for BubbaKeg, ask him about that ;-)

Zoran

(Harmony)

Don’t let the Harley motorcycle and tough exterior fool you – Zoran is ole skool and part of the Harmony Family. Zoran has helped and volunteered with many of the infamous underground parties of back in the day. He has been spinning vinyl for over 15 years. Yes, vinyl! “If it’s not on vinyl, then you are not really playing it” –Zoran. He is not afraid to speak his mind and will gladly entertain you with his techno funky house.

Aaron Uplinger

(OODE)

Aaron has long been a part of our Dysfunctional family, and generally is a regular when it comes to our events and social outings. Aaron is also one of the key organizers of our south bay OODE camp, part of a crazy campout over Memorial Day weekend in Oregon many of us travel to every year and enjoy. Lately, Aaron's been tending to his young pit bull Zoe, and most likely planning out specifics for this year's OODE shenanigans.

Terry Estioko

(Viberation, DFG)

Terry's better known as the visuals guy, as he's done visuals for hundreds of parties in the Bay Area over the last 15 years. He is also known for his contributions with Harmony, Cloud Factory, FnF, Moksha Tribe, SFRaves and his own Viberation parties. He has done visuals and video stage production for events including Skills, Opulent Temple, Evil Breaks, TEDx and many others. He's just added a new sound system to his arsenal (VibeSound), and is looking forward to its maiden voyage at DFG.
